Stratech is a Chartered Architectural Firm based in Vancouver, made up of versatile team of architects, designers, engineers and makers. Stratech focuses on intelligent and engaging designs to address the needs of micro & urban living. Albin Lundberg cofounded Stratech in 2010, and it quickly grew to be one of the go to companies dealing with compact living spaces.

The letter "S" was decided on to be used as the main focus of the logo as its shape is easily legible from many different angles. I designed the S logo with a hexagon element to it, so the completed design would symbolize several key aspects of compact living such as volume, interior, efficiency and spaciousness.

The honeycombs built by worker bees inspired me to create the logo and other components as hexagon is the shape that most effectively breaks flat space into little units. The idea behind this wonder of nature fit perfectly with Stratech's key message; to make the most out of the least space.

TYPOGRAPHY

The client, originally being from Sweden, wanted to use the colors blue and yellow in the company materials and designs. I agreed, as including two primary colors, one active and one passive, would reinforce the idea that Stratech could make any small space feel like home, the place where one would find refuge any time of the year yellow for summer and blue for winter.

Here is a complete range of stationery items for Stratech from captivating and intriguing envelopes to monochrome but sleek pens. The heavy use of blue allows for the logo dominant yellow to advance against a passive hue and immediately catch people's attention, a crucial feature of the business cards and other items.
